About

The story of what was most recently known as Bain Agency, part of Bridgemark Insurance Solutions, and now, INSight Partners, stretches back more than 150 years to 1872, when it first operated as Burns Agency. The agency’s family legacy began when Managing Agent and INSight Partners COO, Jared Blackwood’s grandfather-in-law joined Burns Agency, worked there for several years, and ultimately purchased it — renaming it Bain Insurance.

Years later, Jared’s father-in-law joined the business, continuing the family’s deep commitment to serving the Bismarck community. After selling Bain Insurance to what became two national agencies, he later bought it back and reestablished it under its familiar local name, Bain Agency.

In keeping with the family tradition, Jared Blackwood purchased Bain Agency from his father-in-law in 2017, continuing its longstanding values of trust, service, and community connection. In 2021, Bain Agency merged with Key Insurance to form Bridgemark Insurance Solutions, expanding its reach while maintaining the Bain Agency name and local presence in Bismarck.

Since then, Bridgemark has continued to grow, adding additional offices in Grand Forks, ND; Timber Lake, SD; and Isabel, SD, while Bain Agency remains a cornerstone of its North Dakota operations.

As of March 1, 2025, Bridgemark joined INSight Partners, creating even greater collaboration and access to shared resources across the Midwest. Today, Bismarck proudly carries forward its family heritage and community-first approach — now strengthened by being part of one united agency group dedicated to protecting what matters most.
