Bridgemark Insurance Solutions' SD & MN location origins can be traced back to the 1930's but the most recent history begins in 1977 when John Badgley left the banking industry to purchase the James Kirk Agency with the help of local investors. The newly formed Rothstein, Ziegler, Badgley & Kirk Insurance later rebranded to Key Insurance in the late 1980s.
Key Insurance serves the Mobridge community and surrounding areas through community involvement in the Chamber of Commerce and Ambassadors Club, support of local organizations & sports teams, sponsorship of the Sitting Bull Stampede, a PRCA rodeo in Mobridge, as well as many other local and nearby community events. Key Insurance also grew to have a statewide reach as the managing general agent for the EMC Schools program for the entire state of SD.
In 2006, Jesse Konold joined the agency as a producer and in 2009, John Badgley IV joined the agency in developing a new agency location in Minnesota. Jesse and John both became partners in the agency in 2011 alongside John Sr. John Sr. retired in 2021. At that same time, Jesse & John merged Key Insurance with Jared Blackwood and Bain Agency in Bismarck, ND, to form Bridgemark Insurance Solutions, Inc. At this point, we also welcomed John Dady as a partner into the agency.
Over the years, Key Insurance has been active in the state and national Independent Insurance Agents of America associations with both John Sr. and Jesse serving on the board, as state association Presidents as well as on the national level as the State National Directors for SD.
